Quick start: Support worker

A getting-started checklist for support workers using the Vworker mobile app to manage shifts, notes, and forms

As a support worker, you use the Vworker mobile app to view your roster, clock in and out of shifts, and record notes and forms. This guide covers what you need to get started.

This guide is for providers to share with their support workers. It covers the Vworker mobile app, not VCore (the office application).

Getting set up

1. Download the Vworker app

   Download Vworker from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). The app runs on iOS 11 or above and Android 10 or above.

2. Log in

   Open the app and enter the login details that were emailed to you. Once logged in, stay logged in to keep receiving shift notifications.

3. Allow notifications and location access

   When prompted, allow notifications and location access. Notifications keep you informed about new and updated shifts. Location access is used for clocking in and out.

Day-to-day tasks

Viewing your roster

Your upcoming shifts appear on the home screen of the Vworker app. Tap a shift to see the details, including the client, service, time, and location.

Clocking in and out

When you arrive at a shift, tap Clock In to start the shift. When the shift is finished, tap Clock Out. Your clock times are recorded on the timesheet for the office to review.

Adding progress notes

During or after a shift, add notes to record what happened. Go to the More menu within the shift and select Add Note / Photo. Notes are time-stamped and flow through to the client’s file in the office system.

Add notes while the shift is fresh. You can add notes until midnight on the day of the shift.

Completing forms and checklists

If your organisation uses shift checklists or forms, these appear within the shift. Complete them as part of your shift workflow.

Troubleshooting

Problem	What to do
Unable to log in	Check your username and password. If the issue persists, ask your coordinator to reset your password
Not receiving shift notifications	Check that notifications are enabled in your phone’s settings under Notifications → Vworker
Clock in button not appearing	Make sure location services are turned on and you’re within range of the shift location
App crashing	Update the app to the latest version. If the issue continues, uninstall and reinstall
